Why do I need to create an account (register) to earn cashback?

When you create an account, it helps us track your purchases. Without your registration information we can't keep track of who made the purchase, how much you've earned and where to send the check. When stores send us the cashback on your eligible purchases, we need to know where to forward that money (your account). Consider it like opening a savings bank account for your savings, the difference(an important one) being that you never need to deposit any money - we will do that for you!!

Can I shop at RCB without registering?

Sure, you can shop without registering, but unfortunately you won't be able to earn cashback rewards. Unless you signup and login, we won't know who made the purchase.

Are there any fees for registration or account maintenance?

There are no fees for creating or maintaining a RCB account - no registration fees and no monthly/annual fees.
On the contrary, we give you a signup bonus when you open a new account.

What information do I need to provide for creating a new account?

We just need your basic personal information to identify you - your name, email, address and paypal account (if you choose that option).We DON'T need any of your secure information like SSN, credit card or bank account.

What is Google Login/Signup?

Google signup is a convenience option for users who have a Gmail account. It allows you to link your Gmail account with your RCB account. If you opt for Google signup, you will always be authenticated using Gmail id and password. Please remember it is just another option - you can always create a new RCB account.

I submitted request to create a new Retail Cashback account, but did not receive email. How long do I need to wait?

We usually send the account verification email right away and it should reach you in just a few minutes. In case of any unforeseen network issues, it might take some extra time. But, if it takes more than an hour, any of the following might help:
     - Check your spam folder - the email might have ended up there.
     - If you didn't find the email in your spam folder, try just one more time.
     - If you still don't get the email, please contact Customer Service. We would be glad to assist you at your earliest.

How do I ensure that I earn cashback for all my eligible purchases?

Here are the simple steps:
      1.Create a RCB account, if you don't have one already.
      2.Login to your account - this will help us track your purchases.
      3.Go to store sites using any of the store links on RCB site - store logos or store coupons. This will help the stores know that you came from RCB site and will forward the sale commission to us (and we will share it with you).
      4.Shop around on store site just like you usually do, from browsing thru checkout. While you shop at store site, please avoid clicking links on other sites that take to the same store. This might overwrite the tracking information at store site that says you went to store site from RCB site.

Can I use special offers and coupons and still earn cash back?

Yes, you can for most of the stores... but make sure you use coupons listed on our site only. If you bring your own coupon from elsewhere, we may not be able to guarantee any cashback for you. We try our best to bring you exclusive coupons that work perfectly with cashback, to help you get the best value for your money. There are some stores that may not allow any cashback if you use coupons. We try to post remarks about such stores and/or coupons whenever we can, to avoid any surprises for you. We encourage your feedback to ensure the store/coupon information is up-to-date on our site.

Why does the store site not show my cashback when I am checking out?

We are a third-party shopping service that specializes in getting you great deals for stores you love to shop at. Our system is not tied to the checkout process of any of our partner stores and therefore your cashback rebate will not show up when you are checking out. To see how much in Cashback rebates you have accumulated you must log in to your Cashback account.

How long does it take for my cashback to show up in my account after making a purchase?

It all depends on when we receive your order details from the store. Most of the stores report back to us within a few days of purchase, but some may take as long as 45 days from the date the item was shipped. We try to post your cashback earnings to your account as soon as we receive order confirmation from the store, usually within 24 hours. If you do not see your cashback earnings for your order within 30 days, please submit a Cashback Inquiry giving details of your order. We will try our best to track your cashback down for you.

How is the cashback calculated on purchases?

For each store or service, the cashback is either a percent or dollar amount. The percent amount could be fixed or variable based on product categories, for example, 1% on electronics and 5% on all other items. For stores with a percent discount, we calculate your cashback from the qualifying items in your order (stores may have cashback exclusions on certain items or categories). Please note that the amount you pay for tax and shipping/handling are not eligible for cashback discounts.

What if the cashback amount is different than the amount I expected?

Here are some common reasons why the cashback you receive could be different from your expectations:
     1.Store Exclusions: The store may have cashback exclusions on certain items or categories. Please visit our store page for the list of exclusions. We try to present the most accurate store information but unfortunately cannot guarantee this due to time-sensitive nature of store promotions.
     2.Variable Cashback: The store may be offering different cashback on different product categories, for example, 1% on electronics and 5% on all other items. Please visit our store page for the updated value of store cashback.
     3.The store cashback may be different now compared to the day when you placed the order. Your cashback amount is calculated based on store cashback valid on the day of your purchase.

What happens if I return or cancel my entire order or some items from my order?

In most cases, changes to your original order will result in your cashback being voided by the store. When a return or exchange is processed, the store usually cancels the old order completely and creates a new order to record the transaction. The store reverses the commission associated with the old order, but unfortunately does not associate the new order with Cashback in any way. So, we lose the commission on old order and do not get any on the new one, meaning we have no earnings to pass back to you.
Fortunately, there is a way out to recover your cashback if you must exchange items. Return your entire order and once the store has processed the refund, log back into your RCB account and place a fresh order just like you did the last time (make sure you navigate to store site using a link on RCB site).

Do gift card or certificates qualify for cashback earnings?

Depending on store policy, gift certificates may or may not qualify for Cashback rewards. When stores pay us commission for gift certificate purchases, we credit your account with cashback on the entire order.
When gift certificates do not qualify for cashback, we can give you cashback only for the portion of the sale that was not made with a gift certificate. For example, if you make a $100 purchase at a store and use a $10 gift card, you earn cashback on the $90 portion of the purchase that was not covered by the gift certificate.

Why do my cashback rewards show up as Pending?

Pending status means we have received confirmation about your purchase from the store, but haven't received the commission yet. Stores usually keep a waiting period for commission payments, to allow for returns and exchanges. So, until your order is confirmed as final by the store, we show up as "Pending".

How long do I need to wait for before I can redeem my cashback earnings?

Depending on store's return policy, the waiting period is usually between 30 days and 3 months after the end of the month you placed your order. During this period, your cashback will show up as Pending. We change transactions from Pending to Approved once the store confirms the order as final.

When will I get my cashback?

You may redeem your cashback anytime provided the following conditions are met:
     1.Your account has a total of $10 or more Approved cashback from valid purchases. This does not include cashback earned from promotions like signup and tell-a-friend.
     2.You did not redeem your cashback in the last 30 days.
